Eucalyptus for the Cold & Flu Season

by Maria Tabone

Eucalyptus is the go-to essential oil for cold and flu season. It is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, helps fight viruses and bacteria and is great for chest congestion. It can also be helpful with body aches and pains. If you have a cold, get a cough boil a pot of water – after it boils turn it off and put 2 drops of eucalyptus oil in the pot. Get a towel and put your head over the pot with the towel, close your eyes and breathe in slowly. It can be very strong so use with caution. If you want to put it on your chest put 3 tablespoons of any oil you like mixed with 1 drop of the eucalyptus oil and rub it on your chest and back for easier breathing. I love mixing it with sesame oil in the cooler months.

I have come to love Eucalyptus dives ct piperitone. If you suffer from headaches, whether it be migraines, sinus or just a tension headache, it is wonderful. It helps with sinus congestion and headache that often accompany colds, and it helps open the bronchial passages.

My favorite way to use oils especially for cold and flu is with a diffuser. You can diffuse the scent into your room when you aren’t feeling that well or feel something coming on.

Never ingest oils and keep them away from children and pets.

A site that I highly recommend to purchase this and other high quality essential oils is http://www.naturesgift.com/. Marge Clark is extremely knowledgeable and also has great integrity. Please also see my blends by clicking on the shop tab on this site.

Wishing you good health,
Maria
